A summary of my educational journey, professional experience and academic work.
Education
Born in Ankara in 1975. Completed primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara. Graduated from GATA Faculty of Medicine in 2000.
Professional Experience
Served as Chief Physician at the infirmary of the Hakkari/Şemdinli border battalion (2001–2003). Completed neurosurgery residency training at Ankara GATA (2003–2008). Appointed as a specialist physician at Istanbul GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in 2008.
Academic Path
Left GATA in 2014 and worked in Denizli. In 2015, earned the title of “University Associate Professor” by passing the YÖK-ÜAK exam. Completed radiosurgery (Gamma Knife) training and certification at the Cleveland Clinic Gamma Knife center; actively contributed to the opening of the Gamma Knife center at Pamukkale University (2016–2017). Received the title of Professor in 2020.
Memberships & Scientific Activities
Member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, Turkish Stereotactic Functional & Epilepsy Surgery Group, Turkish Vascular Surgery Group, Turkish Spine Society, and Eurospine. Has served as a guest reviewer for national and international journals. Also served actively for two years on the board of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society Movement Disorders Group.
Awards
Holds two awards at international and national levels: the “German Society of Neurosurgery” award (Dresden, 2014) and a second-place award (“Best Papers of the Year”) at the Turkish Neurosurgical Society symposium held in Çeşme (2014).
Areas of Expertise
Focuses on neuro-oncology (tumors of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system) and surgical treatment of movement disorders, with scientific talks in these areas. Also experienced in endoscopic procedures (transnasal pituitary surgery and lumbar disc herniation surgeries).

Strong academic background
After graduating from GATA Faculty of Medicine (2000), he completed his specialist training in Neurosurgery at Ankara GATA (2003–2008). He was appointed associate professor in 2015 and professor in 2020.
International and advanced technical training courses
He received training in functional neurosurgery and endovascular interventions at Oregon Health and Science University (USA) and Pamukkale University.
Experience in radiosurgery (Gamma Knife)
He completed the training and certification programme in ‘Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Gamma Knife)’ at the Cleveland Clinic Gamma Knife Centre.
Scientific output and awards
He holds national/international academic memberships and has served as a guest reviewer for various journals. He received awards for his papers in Germany (Dresden) in 2014 and in Turkey (Çeşme) in 2014.
Fonksiyonel Nöroşirürji
Since 2017, he has been working in the Neurosurgery Department at Anadolu Health Centre–Johns Hopkins Medicine, where complex spinal and brain tumour surgeries are performed in a hybrid operating theatre infrastructure.
