Education
Born in Ankara in 1975, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Göçmen graduated from GATA Faculty of Medicine in 2000;
2003- 2008 completed Neurosurgery training at GATA Faculty of Medicine
Professional Experience
2001–2003 Chief Physician at the infirmary of the Hakkari/Şemdinli border battalion
2003–2008 Neurosurgery specialization training at Ankara GATA
2008-2014 Istanbul GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital.
Academic Path
2015 “University Associate Professor”.
Completed radiosurgery (Gamma Knife) training and certification at the Cleveland Clinic Gamma Knife center;
2016–2017 Gamma Knife center at Pamukkale University .
Since 2020 Professor in Neurosurgery.

He has two awards at the international and national levels:
“German Neurosurgery Association” award (Dresden, 2014)
Second prize in (“Best Papers of the Year”) at the Turkish Neurosurgery Association symposium (Çeşme, 2014)

Strong academic background
Graduating as a medical doctor (2000) and between 2003–2008 completed his specialist training in Neurosurgery GATA Faculty of Medicine. He was appointed associate professor in 2015 and professor in 2020.
International and advanced technical training courses
Training in functional neurosurgery and endovascular interventions at Oregon Health and Science University (USA) and Pamukkale University.
Experience in radiosurgery (Gamma Knife)
He completed the training and certification programme in ‘Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Gamma Knife)’ at the Cleveland Clinic Gamma Knife Centre.
Scientific output and awards
He holds national/international academic memberships and served as a guest reviewer for various journals. He received awards in Germany (Dresden) and Türkiye (Çeşme) in 2014 for his scientific research work.
Johns Hopkins Clinical Experience
Since 2017, he has been working in the Neurosurgery Department at Anadolu Health Centre–Johns Hopkins Medicine, where complex spinal and brain tumour surgeries are performed in a hybrid operating theatre infrastructure.
