Born in Ankara in 1975, Professor Dr Selçuk Göçmen graduated from GATA Faculty of Medicine in 2000. He completed his specialisation training in Neurosurgery at GATA between 2003 and 2008, subsequently working as a specialist at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital. He attained the title of associate professor during his academic career; he received training in functional neurosurgery and endovascular interventions at Oregon Health & Science University (USA) and Pamukkale University, and also completed Gamma Knife radiosurgery training/certification at the Cleveland Clinic. He was involved in the opening process of the Pamukkale University Gamma Knife Centre and was promoted to professor in 2020.
